Claiming ACC for Chiropractic Services
If your visit is related to an accident or injury then you may qualify for ACC to help cover some of your costs. You can go direct to a Chiropractor and do not need a referral from a GP.
Chiropractic services delivered by members of the NZCA are often covered by the major health insurers (e.g. Southern Cross) – be sure to check your individual policy for specific inclusion and claim details.
Employer Responsibility
Under the Health and Safety Act, employers need to been seen as being proactive and responsible for the safety and wellbeing of their staff when at work. ACC have also bought in legislation; as an employer you have a legal responsibility to protect your workers from harm, which means addressing factors present in your workplace that can lead to discomfort, pain and injury.
My primary role as a mainstream health care professional is to educate and inspire people to take better care of their spinal health, I can do this by offering the following courses:
Manual Handling Course (Correct Lifting Techniques)
The Manual Handling Training Course is designed to provide staff with the skills and knowledge required to perform manual lifting and handling operations competently and safely in the work environment.
Office Ergonomic Course (Correct Workstation Setup)
Inadequate work station set-up is a major contributor to inefficiency and musculoskeletal injuries in the office. This is usually because basic ergonomic principles have not been followed.
